$500 fine for missing parent-teacher meeting in Texas under proposed law

Apparently attempting to out-do California
’s recent attempt to tell parents how to raise their children, the Texas State Legislature has introduced a bill that will fine parents $500 if they miss or choose not to attend a meeting with their child’s teacher.
